Pedestrian, 63, hit by pair of trucks is killed

A 63-year-old man died Tuesday evening after being hit by two trucks near Boulder Highway and Lamb Boulevard.

Metro Police responded to the scene on Boulder Highway, south of Mayorga Street around 6 p.m. when an elderly man outside a crosswalk heading east across the northbound lanes of Boulder Highway was hit by a 2007 Ford E350 work van.

A white pickup truck traveling behind the Ford drove over the man after the first impact, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Witnesses told police the pickup stopped momentarily and then left the scene, police said.

The driver of the first truck waited for authorities, police said.

This is the eighth traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year, police said.
