Two suspects are in custody in the shooting death of a Las Vegas man last week.

Terrence Renda McClodden, 29, and Darrell Fitzgerald, 28, were arrested Monday in the slaying of 24-year-old Exavian Jones.

According to a news release issued today, Metro homicide detectives determined an altercation had developed when Jones discharged “celebratory gunfire” into the air around 9:40 p.m. Thursday in the 6900 block of Hopkins Drive, near North Hollywood Boulevard and East Carey Avenue. McClodden then fired multiple rounds, shooting Jones in the chest and leaving a female victim with minor injuries, police said.

Jones was transported to University Medical Center Trauma Center, where he died a few hours later.

McClodden was arrested on counts of murder with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in or at a structure. He is being held in the Clark County Detention Center without bond.

Police said Fitzgerald was present at the shooting and was considered “a principal party” to the homicide. Fitzgerald is being held in the detention center on a $4,850 bond.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com.
