Homicide ruled in death of man whose body was found in desert

Clark County Coroner’s officials identified a man stabbed to death whose body was discovered July 4 in the desert just outside Las Vegas on U.S. Highway 95.

Coroner’s officials on Thursday said the man was 36-year-old Scott Harrison, but they could not determine where he lived. Officials determined that he died from a stab wound to the chest and declared the case a homicide.

Metro Police officials said they found the body, located near the 102-mile maker, after a driver noticed what appeared to be a body on the side of the road and notified police.

Metro Police officials said they are still investigating the case.
