CRIME:

Two arrested in robbery of pawnshop

Metro Police arrested two suspects in connection to an armed robbery of a pawnshop located in the 300 block of N. Nellis Boulevard that occurred Wednesday morning, officials said.

Officials said multiple suspects had entered the store and took it over. One suspect fired a shot into the ceiling and ordered customers and employees to lie on the floor, while the other stole the merchandise, officials said.

The suspects fled over a wall and into a nearby residential neighborhood, where patrol officers and detectives located them, officials said. Patrol officers and detectives tracked them down to an apartment building on the 200 block of Steelhead Lane, officials said.

Officials said the two were taken into custody around 11:30 a.m. without incident, and that additional arrests may be made in the case.

Officials urge anyone with information regarding the crime to contact Metro Police Robbery Section at 828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or online at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
