Letter to the editor:

Parties don’t seem to deserve support

The Republican Party refuses to end the Bush tax cuts or raise taxes on anyone. They not only won’t cut military spending, they want to increase it. They say they want to cut other government spending, but the vast majority of spending they want to cut comes from Social Security and Medicare.

The Democratic Party refuses to consider any changes to Social Security and Medicare, even for future recipients; wants to only raise taxes on the wealthy and businesses; is unwilling to address the fact that almost 50 percent of Americans pay no income tax; and not only will not cut spending except in the military, but actually wants to increase domestic spending.

All this while we spend $1 trillion more than we take in each year when we are already $15 trillion in debt. Now, please remind me again of which of these wonderful parties I should be supporting.
