Berkley should have recused herself

Regarding the House Ethics Committee’s investigation of Rep. Shelley Berkley:

I am a registered nonpartisan voter and I am tired of politicians setting themselves up as an elite class of people who don’t follow the rules the rest of us do.

That is why I am voting for Sen. Dean Heller. I have a problem with Berkley using her position to help her husband’s business. It is telling in an election year, when every vote appears to be political, that those from her own party on the House Ethics Committee voted unanimously to investigate her. She should have recused herself because of her husband’s economic interest. Her defense has been, “I thought everyone knew.” How would the average Nevadan know? We are not investigative reporters. She should have provided full disclosure.
