Shot to head killed Las Vegas man, coroner finds

A gunshot to the head killed a Las Vegas man whose body was discovered Sunday morning in his apartment.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victim as Esteban Meza.

Metro Police said a friend discovered the 38-year-old Las Vegas man's body Sunday morning at the Shelter Cove Apartments, 2683 S. Decatur Blvd., near West Sahara Avenue.

The visitor said he had come to the apartment to provide transportation to Sunday morning church services when he discovered the body. The visitor called Metro at about 11 a.m.

The coroner ruled the death a homicide.

Metro is urging anyone with information to contact the Metro Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
