Vegas Sands extends contract for President Michael Leven

Las Vegas Sands Corp. officials say they've renewed a contract through 2014 for president and chief operating officer Michael Leven.

The casino company's chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson says in a statement Wednesday that he's grateful Leven is signing on again and called the executive the most competent and productive businessman he's worked with.

Leven joined the Las Vegas Sands Corp. Board of Directors in 2004 and began serving as president and COO in March 2009. His previous contract was set to expire this November.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. owns The Venetian and The Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip, as well as properties in Pennsylvania and Singapore.

The company also owns properties in Macau through its majority-owned subsidiary, Sands China Ltd.
