Where to dance, get your reggae fix and down free smoothies this week

Circus Circus steak

All this for $30? Thanks, Circus Circus!

EAT

Circus Circus Anniversary Deal The Steak House at Circus Circus, a longtime locals’ favorite for special occasions, is celebrating an occasion of its own. To mark its 30th anniversary, the old-school restaurant is offering a prime rib or petite filet mignon dinner with all the trimmings for $30. Tastes like a deal. Throughout June; daily, 4-10 p.m.

GO

Juneteenth It’s a celebration of African-American culture, and the Las Vegas event—now in its 12th year—is always a great night of music, food and fun. June 19, 5-9 p.m., free, Symphony Park at Smith Center.

HEAR

Scissor Sisters Not totally danced out from EDC? Hedonistic hits like “Filthy/Gorgeous,” “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’” and “Fire With Fire” will relieve you of your leftover energy. With Rye Rye, June 15, 9 p.m., $27-$31, House of Blues.

The Jesus and Mary Chain Locals are still smarting from the gloomy shoegazers’ 2007 cancellation. We’re guessing that won’t stop any from showing up this time to get soaked in noisy-pop goodness. With Magic Wands, Phantom Ratio, June 16, 9 p.m., $29.50-$33.50, House of Blues.

Reggae in the Desert A Marley (Ky-Mani), two bands that date to 1970s Jamaica (Third World, Israel Vibration) and a group that hit No. 2 on the charts last year (Tribal Seeds). If reggae’s your thing, this is your day. June 16, noon-11 p.m., $25-$30, Government Center Amphitheater.

SEE

Prometheus Ridley Scott’s semi-prequel to Alien is a gorgeously designed, wonderfully atmospheric and intensely suspenseful sci-fi adventure story that deserves to be seen on the big screen. Now playing.

Crazy for You The story of a 1930s playboy banker who just wants to dance (really) will have you singing along to Gershwin classics like “I Got Rhythm” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.” Bring a picnic for this Super Summer Theatre show. Through June 30, Wednesday-Saturday, 8 p.m., $12-$20, Spring Mountain Ranch.

Images from Cameroon Angu Walters, an African artist living in Bamenda, Cameroon, paints survival and spirituality in abstract and surreal works exhibited at Left of Center Gallery. Meet him on Skype June 16 at 1 p.m. Through September 1.

SCORE

Free Smoothies for National Flip Flop Day You’re already wearing flip flops; why not walk into a Tropical Smoothie Café and score a 24-oz. Jetty Punch Smoothie? Feel free to donate the cash you save to the cafe’s charity partner, Camp Sunshine. June 15, 2-7 p.m.
