A 2002 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck hit an unmarked Metro Police vehicle on Charleston Boulevard and Buffalo Drive on Friday night while officers were conducting a stop with a different vehicle.

Metro Police officials said the officers were stopped in the right lane with a Toyota Corolla conducting a traffic stop when the truck, driven by 58-year-old Michael Goss of Las Vegas, neglected to slow down.

The police officers had been inside their vehicle completing paperwork, officials said.

Both officers were transported to the University Medical Center Trauma Center; one with moderate injuries and the other with minor injuries, officials said. Goss sustained minor injuries and was arrested for a DUI with accident after submitting to and failing a field sobriety test, officials said.

The force of the collision also sent the police vehicle into the Corolla, where the driver sustained minor injuries as well.
