We’ve all had it happen. A favorite local band calls it quits, and we’re left with nothing but the memories. Well, there's good news for fans of ’90s hardcore outfits Faded Grey and Tomorrows Gone: They'll soon be able to put those mental images to music.

Website Punksinvegas.com has launched a series of digital downloads reissuing the out-of-print output of those two iconic Vegas outfits. Better still, all the music will be free and will come accompanied by vintage photos and commentary from Lance Wells, vocalist for both bands.

“I got into Tomorrows Gone and Faded Grey when I was in high school, and they were a big part of my musical discovery,” explains Steven Matview, founder and executive editor for the year-old Punks in Vegas site. "It’s kinda sad that this stuff is so good and there’s been no way to hear it because it’s out of print. And then I realized that with the website, I have the platform to get this music back out to a whole new audience.”

Installment No. 1, Tomorrows Gone’s 1994 demo tape, is up on the site now, available for stream or download. Up next: Tomorrows Gone’s 1995 demo (plus compilation tracks), followed by the band’s 1997 self-titled 7-inch and a batch of live recordings. Then the spotlight will shift to Faded Grey, with three releases—the Army of Kids 7-inch, an aborted split 7” with Curl Up and Die and the demos for debut full-length A Quiet Time of Desperation—rolling out roughly every two weeks.

A Quiet Time of Desperation is still available on CD from RevHQ.com and as an iTunes download.

Bonus: vintage live Faded Grey video footage
