Mitt Romney needs a veep. He’s probably not going to pick Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, so don’t get your hopes up. After all, Sandoval is pro-choice, and some conservatives already believe that Romney is secretly pro-choice (the way Obama is secretly Muslim and 81 house Democrats are secretly Communists).
But don’t count Sandoval out entirely. Three good reasons: 1) He’s Hispanic, like 7 percent of the voting population—specifically, the 7 percent that Romney is having the most trouble with; 2) Nevada is a crucial swing state; And 3) Now that Obama came out in support of gay marriage, Romney may have the ultra-conservatives locked up, allowing him to worry more about winning Independents and worry less about offending the base.
