When basketball coaching fails, it's back to football talking

Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer recount their experience coaching the Las Vegas All-Star team against Findlay Prep in basketball and move on to football talk in the 11th Prep Sports Now of the year.

Cameron Lamont rushed for more than 200 yards and two touchdowns Friday to lead the Del Sol football team to a 35-14 victory against host Eldorado.

Eldorado scored on its first drive of the game for a quick touchdown advantage, but Del Sol’s Tyrone Rouse returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to even the score and the Dragons (2-7 overall, 1-4 Southeast) never looked back.

Dylan Greer added a rushing touchdown on a quarterback keeper for Del Sol, which ended its season short of the playoffs for a second straight year.

“While we didn’t have a good season, at least we ended on a high note,” Del Sol coach Preston Goroff said. “I’m just happy for the seniors. I lost my last game my senior year, and that left a bad taste in my mouth.”
