Person of interest interviewed in North Las Vegas homicide

Updated Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 | 5:57 p.m.

A shooting at a Las Vegas apartment complex that killed a man Monday night might have stemmed from an argument, Metro Police reported.

Officers were called at 9:22 p.m. to the 5000 block of Madre Mesa Drive near the North Las Vegas Airport on reports of gunfire. Police arrived to find a man dead from apparent multiple gunshot wounds.

Homicide detectives identified a person of interest and interviewed the person at the scene, police said. It appears the victim and person of interest engaged in a “verbal dispute” before the shooting, police said.

Once detectives complete their investigation, the case will be presented to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for review, police said.

The deceased man’s identity has not been released.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
