NE valley homicide victim appears to have been shot through apartment window

Homicide under investigation

A man is dead after apparently being shot early Friday through a window at an apartment in northeast Las Vegas, Metro Police said.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots around 12:20 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Sandy Lane, near Pecos Road and Las Vegas Boulevard North, and found a black male adult dead from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicated shots were heard shortly after the victim had gone to the rear of his apartment to check out a noise, police said.

The victim was found inside the apartment and appeared to have been shot through a window, police said.

The identity of the victim and the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after the family has been notified.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact Metro’s homicide section at 828-3521 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
