A two-alarm fire early Sunday caused an estimated $1 million in damage to a Universal Watch Co. building near Tropicana Avenue and Valley View Boulevard, said Stacey Welling, a spokeswoman for Clark County.

The first responding fire crew, which arrived just after 1 a.m., reported heavy smoke and flames and requested a second alarm, Welling said. The roof of the warehouse portion of the building, at 5016 Schuster St., collapsed shortly after the first crew arrived.

Fifty crew members and 18 units from Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue battled the fire for about 30 minutes, Welling said.

No one was injured, and the fire's cause is under investigation.
