Police have arrested the estranged husband and his former neighbor in last month's slaying of a woman in her Summerlin apartment.

Metro Capt. Chris Jones, in a news conference today, announced the arrests of George Tiaffay, 40, and Noel Stevens, 37, in the death of Shauna Tiaffay, 46, Las Vegas.

Both men were arrested on counts of murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Shauna Tiaffay was found dead about 9:15 a.m. Saturday inside her residence at Willowbrook Apartments, 2601 S. Pavilion Center Drive near Sahara Avenue and West Town Center Drive. The Clark County Coroner said the woman died from multiple blunt force injuries brought on by assault.

At the news conference this afternoon, Jones said the call to police to report Shauna Tiaffay's death was from a male who identified himself as George Tiaffay. Jones said the two were married at the time of Shauna Tiaffay's death but had been separated.

Jones did not disclose a motive for the slaying but said George Tiaffay and Stevens have known each other for some time and were once neighbors. Jones wouldn't comment further.
