35-year-old shot, killed outside North Las Vegas home

North Las Vegas Police are investigating a shooting that left a 35-year-old man dead in front of his home Monday night, officials said.

North Las Vegas resident Treanell Levell Matthews died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

About 7:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting at Matthews' home in the 2100 block of Balzar Avenue, according to a news release issued late Monday by the North Las Vegas Police Department. Matthews died on scene.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who reportedly fled on foot.

The incident marks the eighth homicide in North Las Vegas in 2012.
