The GOP is asking the question: Are we better off than we were four years ago? Ask the 7 million young people who are still covered by their parents’ insurance. Ask the millions who will have insurance in 2014 who do not have it now as well as those who no longer fear not being able to get insurance or feared that their insurance might be dropped.

Ask those of us who supported President Barack Obama’s guidance in eliminating Osama bin Laden and most top-level al-Qaida leaders.

Let’s not forget that Obama honored President George W. Bush’s agreement to end the Iraq War by 2011, thus preventing the loss of many more courageous soldiers.

Are we better off from a national security standpoint than we were four years ago? Results answer that question. Ask those of us who wanted Moammar Gadhafi gone and Hosni Mubarak out.

Ask the millions invested in IRAs who saw the Dow Jones average go from 6,500 points to more than 13,000 points.

Ask the mothers who saw health coverage expanded for children.

Consider the fact that all of the above and more was accomplished in spite of the obstructionism of the GOP. Think of how much more could have been accomplished with their support.

In many ways, we are better off, but Obama knows that there is much more to accomplish, and he deserves four more years to get it done.
