As I drive around my town of Henderson and areas of Las Vegas, I’m encouraged by all of the new homes I see being built.

I’m encouraged because this surely indicates that we no longer have a shortage of water and I don’t need to be so conscientious about my conservation efforts.

The new meter fees will surely cause the Southern Nevada Water Authority to not require any rate hikes for some time.

The property taxes created should curb the need to raise mine for libraries that I don’t use or to repair schools that I have no relatives attending.

Perhaps some of the money earmarked to build more parks than necessary could be reallocated to more essential needs, but then I guess that defeats the purpose of earmarks.

Apparently I’ve become clueless about the cost to run government.
