A neighbor said she heard an explosion Friday and looked outside to see a large column of smoke and flames coming from the backyard of a house in the 100 block of Ocotillo Street in Henderson.
Barbara Raeder, who lives on the street, said she was in her home when she heard a loud “boom” about 12:30 p.m.
“I looked out my window and saw a huge column of black smoke coming from the backyard of the house,” she said. “You could see flames rising up and black smoke filled the street.”
The neighborhood is located near South Boulder Highway and East Lake Mead Parkway.
No one from the Henderson Fire Department was immediately available for comment. As of 2 p.m., the fire had been extinguished.
