A pedestrian crossing Tropicana Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk was killed Sunday night when he was hit by a sport utility vehicle, Metro Police reported.
The 46-year-old man was crossing the street just west of Paradise Road when he was hit about 9 p.m. by the SUV, which was headed east on Tropicana, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was the 37th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2013. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
