Flores helps 51s beat Memphis to halt losing skid

Wilmer Flores’ solo home run Sunday highlighted a three-run fourth inning for the Las Vegas 51s in a 4-2 victory at Memphis to snap a five-game losing streak.

Also in the fourth, Jordany Valdespin singled and scored on a RBI double from Zach Lutz. Lutz scored on Matt den Dekker’s single for a 3-0 Las Vegas lead.

Rafael Montero (3-3) gave up four hits and just one run in eight innings for the win, and Robert Carson recorded the final out for his eighth save.

The series continues Monday in Memphis.
