Coroner IDs motorcyclist killed in crash into fence

A motorcyclist killed Tuesday when he hit a chain-link fence has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Franklin Savoy Jr., 30, of Las Vegas.

Savoy was pronounced dead after crashing a 2007 Yamaha R1 motorcycle about 6:30 p.m. on Oso Blanca Road, near Kyle Canyon Road and U.S. 95.

Savoy was northbound when he lost control, drifted off the east side of the road and hit the fence, Metro Police said. Savoy was thrown from the motorcycle, police said.

The crash was under investigation by Metro’s Accident Investigations Section. The death was the 60th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
