Lucas Duda went 3-for-3 with two RBIs today for the Las Vegas 51s in an 8-1 victory against visiting New Orleans at Cashman Field.
Las Vegas (67-56) scored twice in the first inning on run-scoring doubles from Duda and Eric Campbell to take the lead for good, helping the 51s move into a first place tie in the Pacific Southern Division with Sacramento, which lost 2-1 today at Iowa.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a solo home run for Las Vegas, finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Campbell added two hits and two RBIs.
Las Vegas and New Orleans conclude their series at 7:05 p.m. Thursday. Friday, the 51s open a five-game series at Salt Lake.
