Drivers urged to avoid intersection of Twain and Swenson

Drivers are encouraged to steer clear of the intersection of Twain Avenue and Swenson Street today while workers replace a traffic signal pole.

The intersection will be a four-way stop until about midnight, when the work is completed, Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said.

Twain Avenue will be reduced to one travel lane in each direction through the intersection. A right-turn lane for traffic headed south on Swenson Street will be closed at the intersection.

Officials recommend drivers headed east or west in the area should use Desert Inn or Flamingo roads. Drivers headed north or south should use Maryland Parkway or Paradise Road.
