Equating ‘illegal’ with ‘free ride’

I’m tired of hearing rants about “illegals” not paying taxes and getting a free ride.

First of all, most employers have deducted Social Security and income taxes from all employees. Even if the employee, in the country illegally, provided false information to the employer, he or she paid taxes.

Also, let’s talk about property and sales taxes. Every undocumented resident who rents or owns pays property taxes through the rent or house payment.

Every payday, these people take their checks and buy clothing, other goods and services, thus paying sales taxes. So, their child’s education is not a free ride. Please stop with the rants with false pretense.

Now, about that free ride. Without medical care insurance or retirement benefits, people in the country without legal documentation and their families have to use the emergency room as a last resort because they have no access to a doctor.
