Aviation:

Small plane goes down near Fiesta Henderson

A small aircraft went down unexpectedly Friday night near the Fiesta Henderson casino, according to a spokesman with the Clark County Department of Aviation.

The Cessna 152, a small propeller aircraft, was carrying two people — a pilot and a passenger — when the trouble occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m.

One person sustained minor injuries to his or her face, said Chris Jones, a spokesman with the Clark County Department of Aviation. Metro Police Lt. John Loretto said both passengers were able to exit the plane.

Jones said he didn’t want to classify the incident as either a crash or emergency landing since that’s a tough line to draw. It boils down to the facts they have — that the plane landed in a place it didn’t intend to land — he said.

The investigation is ongoing.
