Von Tobel Middle School

North Las Vegas Police detectives want the public’s help in identifying the occupants of a van who reportedly tried to lure a 12-year-old schoolgirl Wednesday.

About 8 a.m., officers responded to Von Tobel Middle School, 2436 N. Pecos Road, where a student reported two Hispanic men in a minivan approached her on her way to school.

The girl was walking to school when a maroon Chevrolet van drove up in the 2900 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North, near Pecos Road. The girl told police the van’s side door slid open and a Hispanic man, about 30 years old, ordered her to get in the van. The girl saw two teenage girls inside the van and a Hispanic male driver. The girl ran away toward her school and notified police.

A nearby convenience store caught surveillance video of the van before and after the incident.
