Fatal shooting

A man Metro Police said was shot and killed after a heated argument with another man Sunday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Robert Edward Holland III, of Las Vegas.

Metro responded about 4:25 a.m. to a shooting in the 3600 block of Boulder Highway, near Sahara Avenue. Officers arrived to find Holland suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

The suspect, Luis Pimentel, 36, fled on a bus, police said.

Detectives located Pimentel on the bus near Bruce and Fremont streets and arrested him.

Holland was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, coroner’s officials said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Holland and Pimentel knew each other and had been involved in a heated argument before the incident, police said. The men began to struggle when Pimentel allegedly shot Holland, police said.

Pimentel was booked into Clark County Detention Center on a count of murder with a deadly weapon.
