Eric Goodman, son of Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, is recovering with his family after he was assaulted and left unconscious inside a restroom at a Summerlin park earlier this month.

His Goodman’s father, former Mayor Oscar Goodman, called the recovery "a miracle of miracles."

Metro Police said Eric Goodman was found about 2:35 p.m. Dec. 15 inside a restroom at South Tower Park, near West Charleston Boulevard and Vista Run Drive. He'd left home about 11 a.m. that morning to go for a jog.

On Monday, Metro issued a statement seeking information about the assault, though the department did not identify the victim. Police said "the victim's injuries have prevented him from assisting with the investigation," noting that he had a head injury.

Eric Goodman is a Las Vegas justice of the peace.

Carolyn and Oscar Goodman released a statement via city officials late Friday saying their son is doing well at a rehabilitation center. The family asked for privacy.

Metro officials, meanwhile, urge anyone who saw Eric Goodman on the day of the attack to call the department’s violent crimes section at (702) 828-5634. Anonymous tipsters can reach Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or through www.crimestoppersofnv.com.

Eric Goodman is said to be about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He has short, blond hair and blue eyes and was wearing a grey knitted cap and a gray jogging suit on the day of the attack.
