Adelson Education Campus receives $50 million gift from namesake benefactors

The Adelson Education Campus received a $50 million donation from its namesake family, Sheldon and Miriam Adelson.

The donation will benefit the Adelson campus' three schools, located in Summerlin and Henderson. Founded in 2006, the Jewish community private schools serve about 600 students, from preschool-level to high school.

"We are grateful to the Adelsons for this remarkable gift," Paul Schiffman, head of school, said in a statement. "The Adelsons have been very closely involved in every aspect of our school, and we have benefitted tremendously from their good counsel. Our ability to move forward without debt enables us to fulfill our educational mission with even greater freedom and imagination."

The Adelson campus was modeled after Miriam Adelson's alma mater, the Reali School in Haifa, Israel, where she studied for 12 years.

"It was an institution that not only had high academic standards but also instilled values and friendships for life," Miriam Adelson said in a statement. "I’m gratified to see that the Adelson Campus now offers those experiences to its students, giving them a sense of belonging and personal history. With this donation, my hope is that the school will continue to be a home for generations.”

Sheldson Adelson added: “We are very proud of this school. It provides a world class education in a magnificent facility. The excellence and devotion of the faculty and administration are of the highest caliber. Miri and I are so pleased to make this gift.”
