UNLV won’t see Boise State in regular season football again until 2015, the Mountain West announced Tuesday.

The conference released the interdivision matchups and, in addition to its five opponents in the West Division, UNLV will play New Mexico, Air Force and league newcomer Utah State for the next two seasons. The Rebels played all three teams in 2012, losing at Utah State in nonconference play and defeating both the Lobos and Falcons at home for UNLV’s only two victories of the season.

This year, the Rebels' nonconference slate includes three home games — Arizona, Western Illinois and Central Michigan — and a season-opening road trip to Minnesota on Aug. 29.

The Rebels’ division includes San Diego State, San Jose State, Hawaii, Fresno State and UNR. This year, UNLV will face the first three at home while traveling to play the Bulldogs and Wolf Pack. The Rebels will also play road games at New Mexico and Air Force while hosting Utah State.

The Rebels won’t host any team that played in Las Vegas last season and won’t travel to any school for the second straight year, making this a rather smooth and fair transition into the 12-team league. The schedule was computer-generated and full times and dates will be released at a later date.

Under the new format, all teams will play the same interdivision opponents for two-year home-and-home series, then switch to play the other three teams. So next year, UNLV will play all the same league opponents, except the locations will be flipped. And in 2015, the Rebels’ home slate will include Boise State and their road games will include trips to Colorado State and Wyoming.
