Taxi drivers honor colleague killed in Strip crash

Taxi drivers are honoring one of their own who was killed in the fiery crash that followed a shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.

KVVU-TV reports cab drivers gathered for a vigil at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road about 4:20 a.m. Friday, exactly 24 hours after the deadly crash happened.

KTNV reports cabs have been flashing their lights and honking their horns as they pass the crash site.

Police say at least one person from a black Range Rover fired shots into a Maserati early Thursday morning. The Maserati then ran a red light and hit a taxi, which burst into flames and killed two occupants.

Officials from Desert Cab confirmed one of their drivers was involved, but law enforcement officials haven't released the driver's identity.
