Coroner identifies victims in two car crashes

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified two people who died in car crashes, one from a medical episode and the other in a rollover that police said may also have been preceded by a medical event.

A 77-year-old man who crashed his car in a parking lot Friday died from a sudden heart episode, the coroner’s office said.

The man was identified as Alan Miskin of Las Vegas. Miskin crashed his green Toyota Camry into another car in a parking lot in the 5800 block of West Harmon Road just before noon Friday, Metro Police said.

Miskin was transported to Spring Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The coroner’s office said Miskin suffered from a series of heart conditions and diabetes.

In a separate crash, Mark Eugene Douglass, 54, of North Las Vegas was pronounced dead after his car rolled over and crashed into two light poles about 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Cheyenne Avenue, near Michael Way, authorities said.

Douglass was taken to University Medical Center with a head injury and was later pronounced dead.

Police said it appeared he may have suffered from a medical episode. The coroner’s office is working to determine the cause of death.
