Metro investigating suspicious death after body found in east valley

Homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death after discovering a body behind a building in east Las Vegas on Wednesday morning.

Metro officers responded to a call of a dead body located behind a business at 9:18 a.m. in the 400 block of North Nellis Boulevard, near the intersection with Stewart Avenue, Officer Laura Meltzer said. Homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 a.m. due to the suspicious nature of the death, she said.

Preliminary reports indicated some type of trauma found on the deceased, but more information was not immediately available, Meltzer said.
