Last week we asked you what it means to be an American. We received a great response. Here are some of the letters and comments. We’ll publish more in the coming days.
What does it mean to be an American? To me, a senior citizen and an Air Force veteran, it means being able to live out my latter years in comfort in a great city as Las Vegas, even on a modest pension. It means living in a country where freedom of speech, human and civil rights are guaranteed and protected. It means living in a society that looks after its senior citizens and their well-being. It means living in a country with great educational opportunities and modern technology amenities. Being an American means:
A Meaningful
Existence,
Resources;
Inspiration.
Community
Achievements;
Nobleness!
