51s send 13 batters to the plate, score nine runs in sixth inning at Reno

The Las Vegas 51s scored nine runs Sunday in the sixth inning, beating the host Reno Aces 15-8.

Las Vegas also scored five runs in the fifth inning, using a 4-for-6 performance with five RBIs and two runs scored from Jordany Valdespin, and three runs scored from Eric Campbell in taking three of four games from Reno.

The 51s sent 13 batters to the plate in their sixth-inning outburst, including Ruben Tejada with a pair of run-scoring hits. Pitcher D.J. Mitchell delivered a three-run double, Mike Baxter doubled and scored, and Brian Bixler had a RBI double.

The teams combined for 34 hits, including 18 from Las Vegas.

Mitchell (5-4) surrendered two runs in three innings of relief for the win.

The 51s return to Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. Monday to host Reno for four games in the back end of a home-and-home series.
