Deadly house fire
Two people were found dead after a house fire this morning in Henderson.
Henderson Fire Department crews responded to the blaze around 2:30 a.m. at a residence on Armstrong Circle, near Burkholder Boulevard and Center Street. Responders arrived to heavy smoke and fire inside the home and were able to quickly extinguish the fire, said Jeff Lytle, deputy chief of operations with the Henderson Fire Department.
The fire started in the home's living room, he said.
After extinguishing the fire, crews discovered the bodies of an adult male and adult female inside the home. The two appeared to be residents of the home, Lytle said.
The Clark County Coroner's Office is still identifying the deceased and the cause of death.
The fire appears to be accidental but remains under investigation, Lytle said. No foul play is suspected in both the deaths and the fire, he said.
No estimate of damage was made due to discovery of the deceased, Lytle said.
"No dollar amount equals the loss of life," he said.
