letter to the editor:

‘Do not pursue’ is unambiguous

In response to Kyle Wolfson’s letter to the editor, “Holding the right conversation,” the divide between white and black is not as wide as you might think.

We have a black president, and I am white and proud to say I voted for him with no regrets.

As for George Zimmerman and that horrible night, Trayvon Martin was simply coming home from the store with a soda and Skittles. It was raining, therefore he put his hood up. Zimmerman thought Martin looked suspicious and called the police, who said, “Do not pursue.”

I’d like to know what part of “Do not pursue” he didn’t understand. If he listened to the officer, Martin would be with us today. Case closed.
