Resident suffers minor injuries in mobile home fire

A mobile home was heavily damaged in a fire this morning in North Las Vegas.

One of two residents suffered minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital, North Las Vegas Fire Department Capt. Cedric Williams said.

Fire crews responded to calls of a double-wide home on fire about 5:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of East Nelson Avenue, near Belmont Street and Carrey Avenue.

Though an official damage estimate has not been made, the home is probably a complete loss, Williams said.

It took firefighters about 25 minutes to put out the fire, which spread to the wooden support beams under the home, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross of Southern Nevada was helping the residents.
