A different kind of a hit-and-run – this one involving a dating couple – led to a lane closure Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 95 near Rainbow Boulevard, authorities said

Around noon, a male rammed his car into a woman’s vehicle until both ended up on the shoulder of southbound U.S. 95, said Trooper Loy Hixson of the Nevada Highway Patrol. The man’s vehicle then hit two additional cars before the man left his vehicle and fled on foot. Authorities believe the first two drivers, both in their 20's, had been dating and the incident was related to an apparent domestic dispute, Hixson said.

Authorities blocked off the right lane of U.S. 95 while the investigation continues but reopened the lane around 2:30 p.m.

The man who fled continues to elude officers, Hixson said.
