Father’s Day dining guide

Remember that tie you bought for your dad when you were 12? The one with the dinosaurs or race cars that you thought was cool?

Yeah, dad never wore it.

But don’t despair. Now you can exchange that tie this Sunday – Father's Day – for a dozen doughnuts at the Krispy Kreme inside the Excalibur.

Many other restaurants and companies are offering special deals Sunday for the father in your life.

Dining

Central Michel Richard at Caesars Palace will be celebrating fathers with a prix fixe menu from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fathers can enjoy a four-course meal, priced at $45. Diners can choose their appetizer, either a crab cake with leek tartare or an Asian tuna carpaccio. For the main course, dads can indulge in the loup de mer with sautéed mushrooms or braised lamb shank with creamy polenta. To top off the meal, Central Michel Richard will treat diners to the restaurant's signature chocolate cake or cheesecake with raspberry coulis. To make a reservation, guests can call 702-650-5921.

Comme Ça by David Meyers at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas is offering a prix fixe, family-style menu for $59 per person from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The first course features steak tartare topped with an egg yolk confit and complemented with restaurant house pickles, roasted bone marrow with oxtail jam and the heirloom tomato and chilled squid salad. The main course will feature an array of dishes include the "Cote de Bouef," an olive wood grilled tomahawk ribeye and a braised pork shank served French-style. Additional side dishes include macaroni gratin with blood sausage and aged cheddar, butter whipped potato and asparagus with hollandaise. The meal will finish off with the chocolate torte. In addition, the restaurant has listed "Dad's Bourbons and Brews," which will highlight the restaurant's best cocktails and beers for dads. At Dos Caminos in Summerlin, fathers can enjoy two special appetizers: sweet corn and pablano chowder with grilled corn guacamole or a grilled watermelon salad. For dinner, Dos Caminos has dishes like a shrimp and chorizo alambre with avocado-corn salad, priced at $24.

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Summerlin will open early from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to offer a special brunch for the father figures in your life. At $36.95 per guest, the three-course brunch opens with choices like the lobster bisque, a caesar salad or seasonal fruit. Diners can choose between a prime rib with a trio of sauces or baked brioche french toast with a walnut crisp for the entree. For dessert, Fleming's will be serving dishes like white chocolate bread pudding or a walnut turtle pie. The restaurant will also be open during regular dinner hours.

Fogo de Chão will gift a certificate for a complimentary lunch or dinner to fathers who choose to dine on Father's Day at the 360 E. Flamingo Road location. Dads can dine on 17 different types of meats and more than 30 salad bar items at the Brazilian steakhouse. Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesar's Palace will feature its just-debuted traditional English Sunday Roast prix fixe menu for $56 per person. It will include chicory and roasted beet salad, Prime beef rib-eye, seared Scottish salmon, roasted fingerling potatoes, honey-thyme-roasted carrots and parsnips, minted English peas, Yorkshire pudding and comes with sides of red wine marrow sauce and horseradish cream. Hash House A Go Go will be featuring Father's Day specials ranging in price from $8.75 to $15.95. Some meaty specials include the crispy pork tenderloin quesadilla and Felix's "Front of the TV Meal" which includes a 14-ounce certified Angus beef New York steak with griddled mashed potatoes, sliced tomatoes, your choice of eggs and fresh fruit.

McCall's Heartland Grill at the Stratosphere has a special "44 for 44" Father's Day menu to commemorate dads. For $44, fathers can indulge in a 22-ounce slow roasted prime rib of beef with a smoked cheddar and bacon twice baked potato and asparagus. The meal also comes with a 22-ounce beer of your choice. Meatball Spot in Town Square is offering a hero sandwich for dads. The french baguette sandwich, complete with pork, beef, chicken, turkey or vegetarian meatballs, can be smothered in a sauce of dad's choice like classic tomato, spicy meat, parmesan cream, pesto or mushroom gravy. In addition, dads receive a half caesar salad, draft beer and a Meatball Spot's signature ice cream sandwich. The meal is priced at $28.95.

Old Homestead Steakhouse at Caesar's Palace invites dads to indulge a 24-ounce bone-in New York strip steak for $88 per person. Reservations can be made at 702-731-7558.

PBR Rock Bar and Grill inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood will treat fathers that indulge in a half-rack of ribs or a brisket to a complimentary 22-ounce Pabst Blue Ribbon draft and a ride on the mechanical bull. PBR Rock Bar is open from 8 a.m. until early morning hours.

The Pizza Lounge in Tivoli Village will gift a complimentary craft beer to fathers with the purchase of an item on Father's Day. Dads can dine on a Santa Fe taco pizza, topped with ground beef, baked Mexican beans, Roma tomatoes, fresh lettuce, taco chips and sour cream or the Meat Lovers pizza, covered with pepperoni, ground beef, sweet Italian sausage, Canadian bacon and country bacon. The restaurant, 410 S. Rampart Boulevard, is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Poppy Den's Chef Angelo Sosa created an a la carte barbeque menu for Father's Day. The restaurant is advertising a 1½-pound lobster, a 14-ounce grilled ribeye with soy steak sauce, baby back ribs and a surf-and-turf meal featuring a 14-ounce grilled ribeye steak and a half Maine lobster. Guests can choose two sides, like Asian slaw or potato salad, with the entree. The restaurant is also offering beer floats, a dessert made with ice cream and sorbet served in a mason jar. Poshburger Bistro near Summerlin will celebrate fathers with a special Father's Day combo on Sunday. The combo will include lollipop Spicy Buffalo Wings, a Kobe Burger, a choice of craft beer and a homemade summer berry cobbler. It costs $30 per person.

Rice & Company in the Luxor will celebrate Father's Day with a sushi and sake pairing for $26 per person. The Big Daddy Roll is made of shrimp tempura, wrapped Wagyu beef, shiso and kaiware, then wrapped with Wagyu beef, avocado, japaleno and Tobiko. The creation is topped with spicy yuzu chili sauce and is paired with Man's Mountain sake. The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. For reservations, call 702-262-4774.

SHe by Morton's inside the Shops at Crystals features "He Cuts," designed with dads in mind. Cuts range from 8-ounce center filets to 22-ounce Chicago-style bone in ribeyes. SHe also offers entrees other than steak, like blackened scallops and beef short ribs.

Visitors at Strip House at Planet Hollywood can dig into littleneck clams casino with Strip House bacon, crisp parsley and a broiled lemon for $18. Dads also can dine on a 22-ounce dry aged certified black Angus T-bone steak for $52 or a 14-ounce bone-in filet for $54.

At Tacos and Tequilas in the Luxor, guests can order the shrimp ceviche and steak borracho for $29. For an additional $15, diners can also sample several tequilas during a tequila flight; choices include Jose Cuervo, Cabo Wabo, Don Julio, Avión and Patron.

Tender Steak and Seafood at the Luxor is offering two additions to honor dads on Father's Day. Patrons can enjoy a tomahawk jack served with roasted fingerling potatoes, mushrooms and caramelized mushrooms. A Jack Daniel's flight with pours of Jack Daniel's, Gentlemen Jack and Jack Daniel's Single Barrel whiskey will also accompany the meal, which costs $85. A ribeye platter, which will include three different types of steak from North Dakota, Wyoming, and Iowa, will also be offered for $85 per person.

Trevi, the Italian restaurant in The Forum Shops at Caesars, will celebrate dads with a prix fixe menu, priced at $45.95 per person. The three-course menu begins with Italian meatballs served with marinara sauce. The main course will be a 14-ounce ribeye steak served with a side of linguine marinara and topped with a pizzaiola sauce made with burgundy wine, marinara sauce, peppers and onions. For dessert, fathers can indulge in tiramisu.

The Top of the World restaurant in the Stratosphere is offering a flame grilled, 30-ounce dry aged tomahawk chop served with king crab meat, chimichurri hollandaise, sauteed asparagus, and an oven roasted potato cake for $90. Activities

Exotics Racing will give a complimentary T-shirt to fathers with the purchase of any 5-lap package gift certificate.

Three community pools (Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road; Pavilion Center Pool, 101 South Pavilion Center Drive; Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park, 889 N. Pecos Road) are offering dads free admission when accompanied by their children. Admission for children (ages 4-17) will be $1, admission for adults is $2, admissions for seniors over age 50 is $1.50.

Shine Alternative Fitness is offering five extreme boxing classes priced at $50 through Sunday for fathers of all skill levels.

Cookies by Design has crafted special Father's Day cookie baskets and bouquets. Some cookies depict golf, fishing, beer, barbeques and other dad-related designs. The store, 4001 S. Dom DeMarco's Pizzeria and Bar is offering $50 gift cards for $25. The cards can be used on dishes like a deep dish pancake with caramelized apples. The gift card can only be applied on food, excluding spirits and beverages. Purchase is limited to four gift cards per person.

At Rhumbar in the Mirage, father figures can enjoy a signature cocktail and a cigar for $20. One signature cocktail is the Latin Manhattan -- a beverage made with ingredients including Cruzan Single Barrel Rum, Carribean spice, lime and a splash of Jamaican ginger beer.

Sugar Factory in Paris Las Vegas has a special "Priceless Pops Basket" for $64. It includes classic treats like Sugar Daddy, Big League Chew, Chocolate Cigars, Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape, Big Hunk and Mambas.
