It's that time again. The mercury is rising and double-digit temperatures are becoming a thing of the past.

It may be hot, but many people still yearn to be outdoors. And for those who don't want to run inside every five minutes to cool off in front of an open freezer door, community pools and splash pads are a great option.

The Las Vegas Valley has dozens:

The following water play areas are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

• Amador Vista Park, 1563 Amador Lane, Henderson

• Esselmont Park, 2725 Anthem Highlands Drive, Henderson

• Hayley Hendricks Parks, 811 Ithaca Ave, Henderson. The splash pad closes at 8 p.m.

• Hidden Falls Parks, 281 Horizon Drive, Henderson

• Heritage Park, 350 E. Racetrack Road, Henderson, has a splash pad intended for dogs only. It is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Madeira Canyon Park, 2390 Democracy Drive, Henderson

• Mission Hills Park, 551 E. Mission Drive, Henderson

• Paseo Vista Park, 2505 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson

Pools and water parks

• Cambridge Water Park, 3930 Cambridge St., Las Vegas, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2 for children, $3 for adults and $1 for seniors.

• Cora Coleman Indoor Pool, 2100 Bonnie Lane, Las Vegas, is an adult-only facility for people over the age of 21. It is open from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Admission is $2 for people under 55 and $1 for people over 55.

• Desert Breeze Aquatic Facility, 8275 Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas, has a shallow beach entry, play structure and two water slides. Children must be 48 inches or taller to ride the tall water slides. It is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2 for children, $3 for adults and $1 for seniors.

• Hollywood Aquatic Center, 1550 S. Hollywood Blvd., Las Vegas, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2 for children, $3 for adults and $1 for seniors.

• Indian Springs Neighborhood Pool, 400 Sky Road, Indian Springs, is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Admission for children 3-17 and for seniors is $1. Admission for adults costs $2.

• Laughlin Water Park, 3790 S. James Bilbray Parkway, Laughlin, is open from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission for children and seniors is $1. Adult admission is $2.

• Logandale Neighborhood Pool, 3280 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale, is open from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission for children and seniors is $1. Adult admission is $2.

• Overton Neighborhood Pool, 375 W. Thomas Ave., Overton, is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

• Paradise Water Park, 4775 McLeod Drive, Las Vegas, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2 for children, $3 for adults and $1 for seniors.

• Parkdale Water Park, 3200 Ferndale St., Las Vegas, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Children’s admission is $2, adult admission is $3, and senior admission is $1.

• Sunrise Neighborhood Pool, 2240 Linn Lane, Las Vegas, is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Saturday. Admission for children and seniors is $1. Admission for adults is $2.

• Walnut Water Park, 3075 Walnut Road, Las Vegas, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2 for children, $3 for adults and $1 for people 55 or older.

• West Flamingo Adult Activity Pool, 6255 W. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, is available only to adults 21 or older. It is open from 10:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Admission for adults is $2, and entry for seniors costs $1.

• BMI Outdoor Swimming Pool, 105 W. Basic Road, Henderson, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. It features a diving tank and wading pool. Admission for children and seniors is $1. Adult admission is $2.

• Black Mountain Aquatic Complex, 310 Greenway Drive, Henderson, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Admission for children and seniors is $2. Adult admission is $3.

• Henderson Multigenerational Center/Aquatic Complex, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson, features three pools. The indoor pool is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The outdoor competition pool is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission for both pools for children and seniors is $1. Admission for adults is $2. The activity pool is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. It includes a water slide and interactive water play features. Admission for children and seniors is $2. Admission for adults is $3.

• Heritage Park Aquatic Complex, 310 S. Racetrack Road, Henderson, is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Diving board hours vary. Children and seniors’ admission is $1. Adult admission is $2.

• Silver Springs Outdoor Pool, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway, Henderson, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Admission for minors and seniors is $1. Adult admission is $2.

• Wells Outdoor Pool, 1650 Price St., Henderson, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Admission for children and seniors is $1. Admission for adults is $2.

• Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive, Henderson, features two pools. The Indoor Pool is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission for children and seniors is $1. Admission for adults is $2. The Activity Pool is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Admission for children and seniors is $2. Adult admission is $3.

• Baker Pool, 1100 E. St. Louis Ave., Las Vegas, is open from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Admission is $1 for children, $2 for adults and $1.50 for people 50 or older.

• Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park, 889 N. Pecos Road, Las Vegas, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday and from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is $1 for children, $2 for adults and $1.50 for people 50 or older.

• Doolittle Pool, 1950 N. J St., Las Vegas, is open from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is $1 for children, $2 for adults and $1.50 for people 50 or older.

• Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road, is open to the general public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. It hosts daily adult lap-only swim sessions from 4 to 7 p.m.

• Pavilion Center Pool, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive, Las Vegas, is open Monday through Friday. Two lanes are available for lap swim from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Kickboards are available. An all-ages swim runs from noon to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. From 4 to 7 p.m. is an adult lap-only swim.
