19-year-old also arrested on count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon

Gang-related stabbing

Two teenagers, including a 14-year-old boy, were arrested Saturday in connection with a gang-related stabbing that left two men in critical condition, Metro Police said.

Eric Guzman, 19, and a 14-year-old boy were charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon after police traced a stabbing victim to an apartment complex at around 5 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of St. Louis Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard.

According to the arrest report, officers transported Guzman from the apartment complex to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with injuries on his right wrist and forearm, apparently the result of being stabbed. Guzman refused to talk to police, the report said.

The 14-year-old admitted to officers that he and Guzman were involved in a gang fight that led to the stabbing, according to the report. Guzman allegedly held the victim in a rear naked chokehold while the 14-year-old stabbed him multiple times, also accidently cutting Guzman, the report stated.

Guzman is being held without bail in the Clark County Detention Center and will have his first appearance in court on Wednesday. The 14-year-old was arrested, but his detention status was not available.
