3-car pileup injures driver, snarls traffic near Spaghetti Bowl

One person was injured in a three-car pileup that has snagged traffic Thursday afternoon on Interstate 15 near the Spaghetti Bowl.

Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the collision about 4:40 p.m. on northbound I-15, near the U.S. 95 north on-ramp. A Nissan sedan crashed into the back of a pickup truck after it failed to slow down in time for the traffic, Trooper Loy Hixson said. The pickup then slammed into the Toyota sedan in front of it.

The male driver of the Nissan was transported to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, Hixson said. The collision closed the center lane for about 40 minutes, causing a traffic jam from the collision to Charleston Boulevard, Hixson said.

Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
