Police arrest suspect in North Las Vegas home invasions

Police have arrested one of two suspects in a series of home invasions in which victims were robbed of jewelry, money and other items, North Las Vegas Police said.

A five-week investigation led to the arrest of Davon Lyons at his apartment Thursday, police said.

Lyons and another person are suspected of invading homes in the 8100 block of Wildwood Glen in Las Vegas and in the 2100 block of Water Rail Avenue and 7900 block of Grey Teal Street in North Las Vegas.

Police said stolen property, including two firearms, and marijuana was found at Lyons’ home in North Las Vegas.

In one case, police said, the suspects cut the phones lines of a home to prevent the victims from calling 911. Police allege the suspects would follow elderly people and rob them at gunpoint when they returned home.

Lyons was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on 23 felony counts, including burglary and coercion with a deadly weapon, police said.

Detectives are still searching for the second suspect. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call North Las Vegas Police at (702) 633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
