Each 51s position player records a hit, scores a run in blowout of Reno

The Las Vegas 51s pounded out 20 hits Wednesday against the host Reno Aces, scoring six runs in the seventh inning and winning for the third straight game against their Silver State rivals, 14-8.

Eric Campbell hit a two-run home run for the 51s in the seventh and led the team with four RBIs.

Andrew Brown also homered for Las Vegas in continuing his hot batting, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and 3 RBIs. Brown leads the team in batting average .367 and RBIs (27).

Las Vegas took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. After the initial two 51s’ batters recorded an out, they loaded the bases and plated three runs to take the lead for good. Campbell had a two-run single to highlight the inning.

Each position player recorded a hit and run scored for Las Vegas, including catcher Juan Centeno finishing 4-for-5 with two runs scored.

The series finale at Reno is Thursday. The 51s’ eight-game road trip continues Friday in Sacramento. They return home to Cashman Field May 7.
