Police say man, woman apparently stabbed each other

A man and woman suffered multiple stab wounds after an altercation Sunday at a home in North Las Vegas.

Police responded to a 911 call at 3:18 p.m. of a woman screaming for help outside a home in the 1900 block of Lawry Avenue, North Las Vegas Police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said.

A 27-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were taken to University Medical Center with multiple stab wounds, she said. Evidence suggests the man and woman stabbed each other and that nobody else was involved, she said.

Because there was no indication the couple had a domestic relationship, if neither party chooses to press charges, it is likely nobody would be arrested, she said.

Coon said she could not comment on what the altercation might have been about. The incident is under investigation.

The couple were taken to the hospital in serious condition but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, she said.

The man has since been released from the hospital and was booked on an outstanding felony warrant, Coon said. No information about the warrant was immediately available.
