A wreck involving seven motorcycles and three cars caused traffic delays on Interstate 15 for hours Saturday afternoon, according to officials with the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at about 1:30 p.m. on the highway’s northbound lanes, Trooper Loy Hixson said. Northbound traffic was funneled into one lane through the area until about 5 p.m., when officials gradually started reopening lanes.
Five people involved in the wreck were rushed to University Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Officials believe a driver inside one of the cars, a BMW, may have lost control and set off a chain of wrecks.
